Ganesh Naik the Original Naik all set to be back in power as he files nomination from Airoli

And finally the day Naik loyalists, corporators and party workers and perhaps Ganesh Naik himself waited for each day of last 5 years arrived. Ganesh Naik, the BJP Shiv Sena RPI candidate from Airoli constituency filed his nominations in Airoli.

Prior to the nominations, a power show was held in Airoli with a rally organized to mark the march to the election office.

What did not go amiss by anyone was the presence of Ganesh Naik’s staunch ex-disciple Vijay Chougule who waited at the election office for Ganesh Naik to arrive. Setting aside all differences, both Ganesh Naik and Vijay Chougule posed for the media.

Vijay Chougule said that he followed the dharma of alliance by remaining present.

Ganesh Naik voiced confidence of his victory this time round. The jubilance among Naik loyalists was sky high. They voiced confidence that this time isn’t a matter of victory or defeat, it is a matter of victory with how much record margin.

Vijay Chougule had perhaps seen Ganesh Naik last in the much-talked about meeting where Vijay Chougule had staged a walk out in anger never to go back to Ganesh Naik. Vijay Chougule then went on to join Shiv Sena and since then, they became sworn rivals with Ganesh Naik’s sons defeating Vijay Chougule in three elections, once in Lok Sabha and twice in Vidhan Sabha. The rivalry brought bad blood in a relationship that during the hay days was seen as an example of perfect guru-disciple in politics. As Modi era has forced Ganesh Naik and his estranged disciple Vijay Chougule to come together ahead of these crucial polls for Ganesh Naik, it’s a wait and watch what the road ahead will be for them and the role Vijay Chougule will now play to add to the target of a “record margin” victory for Ganesh Naik. #ZebaWarsia – NMTV News.
