The residents of Nerul village live in fear due to the increasing unhygienic condition in their vicinity. Huge heaps of garbage in the area near to the Hanuman Temple has become a source of several diseases.
The area near Hanuman temple at Nerul village is reeling under unhygienic conditions. Huge heaps of garbage in the area near the temple has become a cause of concern for the residents. Locals of the area inform that since the garbage is left unattended in the node, several diseases like malaria and dengue have been reported from their area.
Locals added that the situation has gone worst due to the incessant rains. The diseases have also taken a toll on the lives of the people with 3-4 deaths reported from their area. Locals allege that despite persistent follow ups with NMMC, the garbage is still not collected. Infact, the impact of NMTV News was immediately seen at the spot itself when soon after we spoke with the residents, the NMMC contractor immediately sent a JCB and dumper to collect the garbage from the vicinity.
