Gaza residents meet the nightmare of their life as they were allowed to enter their city only for 12 hour humanitarian cease-fire

Residents of Gaza were allowed to enter their city to their homes to pick up their belongings within the 12 hour humanitarian cease fire. Little did the residents realized the nightmare that was awaiting for them. The sight of their city shocked them. Almost every building either was holed with bombs and shells or were completely demolished, Roads destroyed, electric poles lying here and there, streets quiet and eerie, there was nothing left anything what would have comforted them. Besides the destruction there were dead bodies lying here and there, some which had decomposed very badly within these 19 days of invasion. Dead bodies of animals and humans, Relief workers were doing their jobs of retrieving dead bodies by removing rubbles as it was indicated that there are still alive people trapped inside destroyed buildings.

Grim residents who were looking for their clothes or belongings were turning out only with something to eat, anything that they could find in their houses. Except for that there was nothing more for them to get hold on, no house, no neighborhood, no belongings. Although now the international leaders have made it sure that they are going to work out cease fire between the Palestinian and Israel, but the Gaza residents have lost hope of any truce.

Till now the death toll has reached more than 945 with search crew still pulling out more dead bodies. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
