A special cultural event was held for the Gorkha community at Vashi’s Vishnudas Bhave auditorium with the aim to bring the people of this community on one platform and enjoy a colorful evening.
There are many people who come to the satellite city for their livelihood. One community which has been coming to the city for the last several years are the Gorkha community also known as the Nepali Community. There is a common notion in everyone’s mind that the people hailing from this community always end up doing the job of a society watchman. However, today, there are many who have progressed and contributed towards the welfare of the society as a whole. With the aim to celebrate this progress and bring the Gorkha community under one platform, a cultural event was held in Vashi’s Vishnuad Bhave auditorium. Present during the celebrations was several dignitaries from this community including Marine Centre’s Captain Partho Das. Several cultural performances were held to celebrate the feeling oneness.
Speaking on the day, Captain Partho Das expressed his feelings on the day. The organizer of the event, Retired ACP Lalit Duthraaj, expressed that there should be a community hall for the Gorkha community where they can seek benefits.
