As the saying goes, “All good things come to an end”, so did the 12th National Science Festival Khoj 2011, by the DAV Centre for Creative Education. The science festival concluded with the valedictory ceremony, which witnessed speeches by eminent speakers, cultural performances and prize distribution ceremony.
The DAV Centre for Creative Education, Khoj 2011, the 12th National Science Festival concluded on a high note. The valedictory ceremony witnessed speeches by eminent speakers and dignitaries, who shared their experience in Khoj 2011 and the prize distribution. The ceremony was also marked with cultural performances. The valedictory ceremony began by remembering the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, as incidentally his birthday fell on the same day. The dignitaries lit the auspicious lamp and the ceremony began with a melodious song by the students, as a tribute to Gandhiji’s life. The dignitaries who graced the event included Prof. Purushittam Jena, DAV CCE Director Dr. K B Kushal, Vice President DAVCMC Usha Nair and Y S Rajan and others. During the ceremony, the dignitaries released the compilation of Khoj 2010 Essays in the form of a book. The Vigyaan Ratna Award was conferred upon Dr. Puruhottam Jena for his outstanding research work in the field of physics.
This was followed by a beautiful cultural performance on Climate Change where students adorned with colorful costumes and performed on the Vedas and mantras. The much awaited prize distribution ceremony of Khoj 2011, was next in line. The crowd was applauding and cheering for the winners. For the Projects Display in the Sub Senior Group, the students of DAV International School, Kharghar stood victorious. For the Project Display Senior Students group, J H Ambani School Lodhivali got the first prize.
A special feature seen this year was that even teachers participated in project displays and it was the teachers of DAV Public School, Thane who bagged the first prize. In the special category, the award was given to the students of DAV Public School, New Panvel. One of the dignitaries, Steven Rudolf, educational director at JIVA Education appreciated the efforts of the students. DIEMR Director Dr. K B Kushal was happy with the success of Khoj 2011.
