Looks like Vasant Davkhare finally got the blessings of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik as, not just that he got to file nominations for the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections as the NCP-Congress candidate but has been elected unopposed with the Shiv Sena nominee Ramesh Jadhav withdrawing his nominations. With 14 more days still to go for the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, the NCP-Congress combine candidate from Thane, Vasant Davkhare, was elected unopposed. Three-time MLC Davkhare, who is deputy chairman of the Council, was in race for the fourth time. He was opposed by Shiv Sena nominee Ramesh Jadhav, who is Mayor of Kalyan, for the May 28 elections. However, the Sena sprang a surprise and withdrew Ramesh Jadhav’s nomination, paving the way for Davkhare to get elected unopposed. Immediately after learning that he was elected unopposed, Vasant Davkhare accompanied by Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik addressed a press conference and paid gratitude to party leaders of Congress and NCP including Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik for electing him opposed. Evidently, he also thanked Balasaheb for his blessings to make his path clear. Looks like with the support of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, Vasant Davkhare was not just nominated but has even been elected unopposed in the MLC polls. This is being seen as another feather in the hat for Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik who was given the charge by party Supremo Shard Pawar of electing Vasant Dhavkhare. In this day and age of politics of opportunists, Vasant Dhavkhare sets the perfect example of tuning with the ruling and opposition alike for his own personal gains. However this victory does not wiped his embarrassing defeats in the Lok Sabha elections by the father son duo of late Prakash Paranjpe and MP Anand Paranjpe. From Thane, Manoj Singh for NMTV News.
