The High Court has ordered Nerul’s St. Xaviers’ School to collect enhanced fees from parents while hearing a petition by the school against orders passed by the education department and also a public interest litigation filed by the PTA.
Due to the dispute the parents were not able to pay the enhanced fees since June 2011. The Principal of the School Manisha Andhansare informed NMTV that the management was delaying the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission sighting the reason of a case pending in court. However the PTA went to court and got these orders. The Principal said that the orders would allow them to collect fees. The judges have directed the parties to file their written submissions on the fee structure and teachers’ entitlement to benefit from the Sixth Pay Commission with the DDE on October 10. The court directed the DDE to take a decision by October 14. The matter will be heard on October 19. With bureau inputs, Gangasingh Rajpurohit for NMTV News.
