In a recent closed-door two-hour interaction with a small group of editors of print publications Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that he has no problems to step down for Rahul Gandhi to take over, whenever he is told to do so.
The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that, “I am sure that the Congress Party and the Congress President have entrusted me with this job to do. I have not got any contrary view from the Congress High Command. In fact, the Congress High Command has been most supportive, particularly Mrs Gandhi. Therefore, if you ask me, the general perception – that younger people should take over – I think it is the right sentiment. I sincerely hope that whenever the Congress Party makes up its mind, I have no objection to step down. But so long as I am there, I have a job to do.”
