India climbs from 10th to become 3rd-largest economy

Washington : In 2005, India was the 10th largest economy. Today it the third ! India has beaten Japan to reach the 3rd place, only behind US and China.

A date released by the International Comparison Program hosted by the Development Data Group at the World Bank Group states that the in comparison to United States, the economies of Japan and the UK became smaller. Germany increased slightly while France and Italy remained the same.

China, India, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia and Mexico, account for 32.3 per cent of world GDP. These are the six largest middle-income economies. In comparison to this, the world’s six largest high-income economies that includeUS, Japan, Germany, France, UK and Italy; account for 32.9 per cent.
