INDIAN NATIONAL ARRESTED IN MALAYSIA DRUG CASE – FAMILY SAYS SON WAS FRAMED

karthik-kumar-2The estranged family of Kartik Kumar is running from pillar-to-post to get information about Kumar’s whereabouts. His family has written to Mumbai police commissioner Hasan Gafoor, deputy chief minister RR Patil and the external affairs ministry, seeking help. Mushtaq Khan tells us more on this front. 21 year old Karthik Kumar went to Malaysia in search of a job to fend for his family back home in Chembur. But immediately after he landed on the Malaysia airport, he was arrested by the Malaysian police for allegedly carrying narcotics in his luggage. The estranged family however claims that the youth had been framed as the briefcase in which the drugs were found was given to him by a job agent in Mumbai when he was on his way to airport to board the flight. Our team also contacted the custom officer in Malaysia through phone who stated that while the law in Malayasi was strict, justice would be served.
