Citizens of Ward no. 9, 11, 12 and 16 in Airoli were a relieved lot to see their MLA Sandeep Naik this time. Dealing with too many civic issues, residents informed the MLA about their problems.
Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik once again visited ward no. 9, 11, 12 and 16 under his “MLA at your doorstep” drive. There was relief among residents of these wards who have been facing too many civic problems. The visit brought to the fore these issues that ranged from poor condition of the playgrounds, need to widen roads, pathetic conditions of public toilets, need to relocate high tension transformers and poor quality of drinking water. Frustrated residents of these wards briefed their MLA about all these issues.
In ward no. 12, the MLA visited the local rationing shop. The queue of people outside the shop was enough to understand that they have been facing a severe shortage of supply, which the people voiced to the MLA too. Post his visit to all wards, the MLA called for a meeting at the local ward office. In the presence of corporators, NMMC, CIDCO, MIDC, MSEDC and other government officials, citizens and party workers; the MLA held an interactive session to discuss the public issues haunting the wards and how to address them. The issue of beginning the work on the press-room at the ward office was also taken up during the meeting. Speaking to the media, MLA Sandeep Naik said that the aim of his visit is to ensure that the issues of people are addressed.
The MLA voiced satisfaction that most of the issues taken up during his previous visit to these wards were resolved now and nearly 50% was pending to be addressed. On the issues that have been pending for long, the MLA said that there is a need to take a policy decision on them. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Gangasingh Rajpurohit for NMTV News.
