The Journalist Welfare Association organized a programme at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium in Vashi to felicitate the senior journalist Vishwarath Nayar with the Guruwarya Award for the contribution and work done by him in the field of journalism. Hailing from a commerce background, senior journalist Vishwarath Nayar worked in 12 reputed companies before entering journalism. Within 13 years he had made a shift in 12 companies, which was prove enough that he was meant to do something else. Like a fish drawn to the water, Vishwarath Nayar started working as a journalist in the year 1984 for the first newspaper for Navi Mumbai New Bombay Bulletin. From 1886 to 1992 he worked with many news dailies like the Indian Express and The Daily. It was in 1988 that he started working for the first English fortnightly – the Raigad Observer. Vishwarath Nayar has also been with the NMTV team since its inception and has reported the happenings and events at NMMC. For his contribution to the field of journalism, he was recently honored with the Guruwarya award. During the felicitation he was present with his family. The Chief guest on the occasion Dinkar Raikar – the Edtor of Dainik Lokmat commended the work done by Vishwarath Nayar.
