They call it the classic case of looking after the homeless. A monkey at Antop Hill has been mothering two kittens. The mother cat died two days after giving birth to them. When Salim Rassiuddin Kazi, a resident of Antop Hill saw a monkey in his premises, he left him on the so that it did not enter anyone else’s house. But two days later the monkey was back. This time Kazi took who did not want the monkey at his house decided to have it taken to the animal care centre at Bhandup, which agreed to take care of the animal. But in the meantime, a cat had delivered two kittens in the passage near his door. As the cat had some problem while giving birth, it died. The Kazi family offered milk to the stillborn kittens but they were unable to drink it since they were too small, the Kazi family was surprised when they saw the monkey feeding the kittens. After the incident, the monkey never leaves the kittens alone. She has become so possessive about them that she does not allow anyone to come near the kittens.
