In order to stop the increasing number of migrant fish vendors, the members of Koli Samaj Sanghatna have submitted a plea to the MCGM commissioner and additional MCGM commissioner. According to the members, inspite of restricting the selling of fish and meat in other places except the markets, the migrant vendors are violating the rules, which in turn is affecting the employment of fisherwomen. The Koli Samaj Sanghathan submitted a plea to MCGM complaining about the selling of fishes illegally by the hawkers to various societies and complexes in the city. According to them these are all migrants coming from other states to do the illegal business. This is affecting the business of the legal business of fisherwomen. The Mumbai President of Koli mahasangh and former corporator Prakash Bobadi informed us that as per section 410(1) fish selling is not allowed at any other place except assigned markets.
