The Kurla police has arrested seven youths who had allegedly stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 19 lakh from Kuber Jewellers in Kurla (West) last year. The police also recovered jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh from them. The accused committed the crime because they wanted money for marriage and buying houses in their hometown in Rajasthan, the police said. Three of the accused-Ganesh Singh Basana, Devi Singh Chandana, Nararajeev Karwad, were arrested from Rajasthan, while Manwas Kewad, Ramesh Karwad, Ganesh Singh Karwad and Dinesh Prajapati were found in Mumbai. Senior inspector Vijay Bhagwe, Kurla police station, said the needle of suspicion pointed to Ramesh, who was employed at a nearby shop. Ajaz Khan – NMTV News.
