Shiv Sena MLA Dagdu Sakpal’s prayers have been answered, by none other than MCGM as the civic body has now studied the dilapidated condition of the bridge and are making plans for a four-lane flyover bridge. Shiv Sena MLA Dagdu Sakpal had demanded that the flyover at Lalbaug a.k.a Sant Dnyaneshwar Bridge be razed because it had made the journey of Lalbaugcha Raja – the Ganesh idol installed by the mandal there – very tedious. The civic body had also observed that the bridge was in a dilapidated condition. A blueprint of a four-lane flyover plan estimated at Rs. 149.40 Crore with construction duration of 20 months, prepared by the MMRDA, is already in place. Last week, MCGM conducted a joint inspection with MMRDA officials.
