The Lions Club of Turbhe organized a free diabetes check up camp at CISF colony in Vashi. The number of diabetes patients in India is climbing steeply. In fact India is one the countries having the largest number of diabetic patients. Keeping this in mind, the Lions Club of Turbhe organized a free diabetes check up camp at CISF colony at Vashi. The doctors at the camp checked the residents and gave them medical advices on the needed fronts. Diabetes, with its attendant acute and long term complications, and the myriad of disorders associated with it, is a major health hazard. The picture was made even more grim by the fact that many of our people with diabetes are still undiagnosed. Whilst the high rates of prevalence of complications is disturbing, the picture is rendered all the more gloomy with reports that many patients already show the presence of these complications at the time of diagnosis. Hence, on these lines the free check up camp organized by Lions Club of Turbhe proved to be very significant.
