Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2014 : Low voter turnout till noon

Mumbai, October 15, 2014 : The voting percentage until noon in Mumbai was a major disappointment. Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2014’s voting started at 7 am. The elections are being held for 288 seats. 4119 candidates are fighting the elections. With two major alliance parting ways days ahead of polls, the battle has become five cornered. The fight is between BJP, Shiv Sena, Congress, NCP and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

Among those who cast their votes early were Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, State BJP president Devendra Fadnavis, actress Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Amol Palekar and actor Atul Kulkarni, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Bureau report – NMTV.
