The state has brought in new development norms for land owners in life of the compensated land given to the government for mentions. The Maharashtra government has now doubled the Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) — development rights issued to a land owner across the state. However, this norm will not be implemented in Mumbai.
According to reports, the TDR will be be two times the area of surrendered land in non-congested areas and three times that of surrendered land in congested areas for land free of cost and all encumbrances. Earlier it was only 1, which means, for a 100-square-metre plot, the TDR generated was 100 square metres.
