MCGM Standing Committee Chairman Rahul Shiwale has defended the MCGM’s pre monsoon work stating that they have completed 97% work in their jurisdiction while the problem of water logging is taking place due to the incomplete work of other government agencies active in Mumbai. MCGM Standing Committee Chairman Rahul Shewale is advocating the Shiv Sena ruled MCGM’s pre monsoon work stating that they have completed 97% of their work. The reason for stating such a percentage is known only Shewale but the Chairman is clear on his statement. He says that in Mumbai, 60% of the area comes under MCGM’s jurisdiction while 40% comes under other government agencies like MSRDC, MHADA, AAI, BPT and the like. It is in their area that the pre-monsoon work has not been done. Speaking about culverts, he said that work on 50% of these were pending due to which, water logging is being reported this monsoon. Speaking about the missing coordination between all government agencies working in Mumbai, he said that a committee has been constituted. This committee has members of all government agencies and is headed by Chief Minister Ashok Chavan. Pushing the responsibility of coordination on the Chief Minister, Shewale said that if the Chief Minister ordered then all government agencies would do their job. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the Standing Committee Chairman is defending the Shiv Sena led MCGM and trying to push the buck of failure of pre-monsoon work on the Congress but it is a fact that it is the MCGM that has done incomplete monsoon work. It may be recalled that the same was exposed MNS’s Group Leader in MCGM Madhav Sangle had visited different areas in the city and blamed the MCGM for incomplete work.
