MCGM TO PLANT MEDICAL TREES AT A COST OF RS 10 CRORE

mcgm2Every year MCGM plants trees during monsoons. However, this year it has decided to plant medicinal trees for which it has asked financial aid of rupees 10 crore from the centre. Recently, a press conference was held among the administration and the garden department at the MCGM headquarters. In this press conference, MCGM commissioner Dr Jairaj Phathak informed that the civic body has decided to plant 4429 trees on the edges of the roads and 1876 trees all over the city out of which 650 trees have already been planted on the occasion of World Environment Day. Dr Jairaj Phathak also informed that to maintain the ecological balance, like every year, this year too the citizens and various institutions would be provided with saplings for rupee 1. He further added that the responsibility of maintenance of the trees will be of the ward office of the particular area.
