A bhoomipujan marked the beginning of work of the Meghalaya House. The bhoomipujan was performed at the hands of the Dy. Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr. D Roy. The Meghalaya House that will be built at estimated cost of Rs. 3 Crore 48 Lakhs. Navi Mumbai is one of the most important cities of the country today with several states having their houses here. This is more so as the city is like mini India where people from all states have come and settled down. The Meghalaya House is being built in sector 30A, Vashi next to the Vashi Railway Station. The bhoomipujan ceremony of the work was done at the hands of the Dy. Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr. D Roy in the presence of Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik and CIDCO MD Ashok Sinha amongst others. The Dy. CM expressed his satisfaction over the coming of the Meghalaya House in Navi Mumbai, which he said would promote the culture, traditions and social aspects of their state here. He invited the Maharashtra state to built their bhavan in Meghalaya, a proposal for the same has been submitted to the Maharashtra State. The Meghalaya House’s construction will be executed by CIDCO. It will be built on an area of 24, 600 sq. ft. and will be completed in 15 months time period. Also Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik welcomed the Meghalya House in Navi Mumbai.
