The members of MMRDA and MHADA Coordination Committee had threatened to go to court against MCGM for the pothole nightmare in Mumbai. However, since the administration began repair of roads and potholes, the Coordination Committee has decided to not go to court. After seeing how lightly the MCGM was taking the potholes ridden roads in Mumbai, MMRDA and MHADA’s Coordination Committee had conducted a survey on the condition of roads and handed it over to MCGM and the State. The Coordination Committee had also warned them that if they fail to act then they would knock the door of court. The report listed the roads that would be used most for Ganpati Visarjan. When MCGM failed to act on it, the committee decided to go to court. However, this week, after meeting members of the MCGM Standing Committee and administration, the Coordination Committee took its decision back of going to court. Chairman of Coordination Committee, Naresh Dahiwadkar informed that for last two years they were asking corporation to repair the roads and after the threat to go to court, MCGM started repair of roads on war footing. Chairman of Standing Committee Rahul Shewale said that due to rains, it was difficult to repair the roads but now they have done most of the repair work on potholes and remaining will be completed within 2 days.
