Mumbai has taken over as Wuhan lead in the number of COVID-19 cases, on Tuesday COVID-19 cases has crossed 51,000 mark with this Mumbai has taken down Wuhan by 700 cases, while death toll has also went up.
As on May 6 the number of Coronavirus cases has crossed 10,000 and till May 21 the number of cases has reached to 25,000.
BMC said on Tuesday 1,015 new Coronavirus cases were found which has the tally of cases to 50,878. As per the BMC the city has 26,178 active COVID-19 cases while 690 new suspected patients have been admitted to various hospitals.
In Maharashtra’s capital due to Coronavirus pandemic the death has increased 1,758 with 58 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours. During this period 904 patients were discharged from the hospital taking the number of recovered patients in the city to 22,942.
On March 11 the first Coronavirus case was found and the first death due to Coronavirus was reported on 17 March.
Since Monday morning 58 patients died due to COVID-19 and 47 were suffering from various co-morbidities or existing health conditions.
The BMC said that between June 1-8 the growth of COVID-19 cases in the city was 3 per-cents but in three civic wards in Western suburbs (P-north, R-north and R-south) the growth rate was over 5 per-cents.
There are 775 containment zones in slums and chawls, whereas at present 4,071 buildings have been sealed.
