Mumbai Mayor Shraddha Jadhav has appealed to use less water during the upcoming holi festival. She said that extra water would be supplied on this day but people should make use of water with care. On 1st March throughout country holi is celebrated. This festival is of colors and water but due to water crisis in Mumbai, MCGM is drafting a guideline for Mumbaikars whereby holi could not be spoiled. While appealing to people, Mumbai mayor, Shradha Jadhav said that people should use such colors, which will need less water for cleaning and shouldn’t use those colors either, which will need drinking water for cleaning. She said that they are pondering upon to provide more water supply on the day of festivity so that they should be able to enjoy. She said that decision would be taken after discussing the matter with MCGM Commissioner and water supply engineer: On this festivity water is used for ‘rain dance’. She appealed to the people that they should not use drinking water. She also said that the duration of rain dance should be reduced so that water would be saved. She appealed Mumbaikars that use water with care till coming monsoon, as due to lack of rain this year, there is no sufficient water in lake.
