Mumbai police starts combing operation against six paragliders

Following the spotting of six men paragliding close to Mumbai’s coast, the Mumbai police force has started combing operation in the city. The Santacruz police which took cognizance of the report started combing the area for these possible illegal entrants.

Last week, a Pawan Hans helicopter pilot had reportedly spotted six men about 2 nautical miles from the Mumbai coast near J W Mariott Hotel.

The force is on high alert regarding the matter as the intelligence bureau had alerted state police agencies across the country in 2010 of a possible aerial attack by militants using paragliders. As per an order released by the Mumbai police in November 2015, paragliding is banned in the city.
