Industries Minister and Congress leader Narayan Rane is using his cabinet post in the government of Maharashtra to get back at his rival Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray.
Narayan Rane moved a breach of privilege notice against Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray and party MP Sanjay Raut in the ongoing state assembly’s monsoon session. He moved the notice against a malicious news report against him in the Saamna. The Saamna is the Sena mouthpiece.
On August 3, the paper carried an article on the state assembly’s ongoing monsoon session and the content allegedly had derogatory remarks indirectly against Narayan Rane who said that this amounted to “character assassination.”
The Speaker Dilip Walse Patil is yet to admit the notice.
