Navi Mumbai police get its own Twitter account on Republic Day

After the recent successful launch of the online Twitter account of Mumbai police, the Navi Mumbai police also got its own Twitter handle. The Navi Mumbai Commissioner of Police, Prabhat Ranjan inaugurated their new Twitter account @N_MumbaiPoliceNavi Mumbai CP on Republic Day.

An online Twitter handle will help the police to reach out to the public within seconds. This will not only help to quickly give out important information to citizens and also media, but also quell any destructive rumours that may be spread by unwanted elements,” said a city based official.

So far, the Mumbai Police twitter account has over 29,300 followers.Navi Mumbai police is also expecting to garner thousands of online followers.
