yadav-nagar-3BEST BUS FOR SAAMTA NAGAR TO SAAT BANGLOWS The residents of Saamta Nagar, Kandivali East are breathing a sigh of relief as BEST bus services have been started from the nagar to Saat Banglows at Andheri West. The bus numbered 223 was inaugurated by Mumbai Regional Congress Chief kripa Shankar Singh. BEST General Manager Uttam Khobragde and many Congress party workers were present during the ceremony. R R PATIL WARNS RAJ THACKAREY OVER CHATH PUJA Responding to the comment passed by MNS Chief Raj Thackarey to not hold Chatt puja in the city, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil warned Raj Thackarey on his behaviour stating that action would be taken against those who meddle with the law. Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh had also called in a meeting with Police officials and other departments to ensure that Chatt Puja is carried out in the city in peace. APPOINT PLEADERS BASED ON MERIT NOT POLITICS: HC The Mumbai High Court recently pulled up the state for appointing government pleaders based on political considerations. The order stated that the state is expected to select law officers on merit rather than on political patronage. The order came in wake of a hearing when an assistant government pleader, despite seeking two adjournments in a case, had not been able to produce a court order of 1995 which he was asked to produce. The court said public bodies had to safeguard the interests of the society and for that it must engage the most competent servants, agents, advisers, spokesmen and representatives. FIRE AT SHROFF KASKAR INDUSTRIES A fire broke at Shroff Kaskar Industries in D N Nagar, Oshiwara. Two floors of the three storeyed building were gutted in the fire but fortunately no one was injured. However, the fire was so intense that 20 fire engines were called in control it from spreading. According to ACP of DN Nagar police station, Dilip Suryavanshi, the cause of the fire was still unknown.
