Nineteen youngsters took the hardship of training deaf and deaf blind children along with other physically challenged children. The youngsters held a workshop for them in Hellen Keller Institute. It takes immense courage to understand and train the physically challenged. However 19 youngsters of the city have taken upon the task of imparting training to deaf, deaf blind and other physically challenged children. It is a challenge for every physically challenged person to live his life and stand upon his own. To assist such persons, a workshop has been started at Hellen Keller institute. We spoke to Anuradha Bagchi of Hellen Keller Institute to know more about this training program. Blinding their eyes with a cloth, the nineteen youngsters taught and trained the physically challenged. The Institute also organized a trip from Mahape to Nerul for these students to train them so that they can travel on their own. We spoke to some of the youngsters about their training. While life is a challenge for the physically challenged, workshops and trainings like this go a long way in giving the push that these special children need.
