It is not hidden from anyone that legislators and contractors have an unholy nexus all over the country, though going by latest reports in Maharashtra its worst. For the first time however, the contractors are playing the victim card. They have gone to Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari complaining of being cornered, even blackmailed by MPs and MLAs.
This has led to Nitin Gadkari shooting letters to ED and CBI asking them to initiate enquiry in these complaints, particularly in Maharashtra. The contractors have approached Nitin Gadkari with copies of audio and video recordings that the complainants gave him as proof. The same has been handed over to ED and CBI. The main crux of the complaints is that work is often “stalled” even “stopped” by local leaders if their demands are not met by the contractors. Maharashtra, is followed by Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh governments in list of highest complaints of corruption. Bureau report – NMTV News.
