The development is likely to check traffic menacein the area to a great extent. The proposal of widening the road below the Rajeev Gandhi flyover at Nerul has been approved by the NMMC Standing Committee. One of the major problems that this road used to face was the frequent traffic congestions and jams. Peach hours used to see the worst of traffic congestion here. Along the road, a hospital Ashirwad hospital and many shopping malls are located. People visiting the hospital and the malls parked the vehicles in the main road itself adding to the traffic jams. When we contacted the local corporator of the area Jaywant Sutar, he informed that the civic body has approved a proposal of widening the road by reducing the width of the footpaths from both ends. The civic body would be spending nearly Rs 10 to 11 lakh for this development work. With cameraperson Roshan Hate, Monica Bhosale for NMTV News.
