NMTV Exit Polls Come True ! NCP Becomes The Largest Party

As NMTV had predicted in its exit polls, NCP has emerged as the single largest party in NMMC winning 52 seats but falling short of a clear majority. NCP says it has the support of all the 5 independents and with their help, they will ensure that the next Mayor in NMMC will be of NCP.

Although NCP has taken the lead in Navi Mumbai, its dominance in the corporation has taken a big beating with the Shiv Sena and BJP alliance giving it a close fight. In Airoli, Shiv Sena has swept most wards and has emerged as the single largest party in Airoli constituency while NCP is the single largest party in Belapur constituency. In the 59 wards of Airoli constituency

  • BJP 2
  • Independent 4

On the other hand, in Belapur constituency


  • NCP 28
  • Shiv Sena 12
  • Congress 7
  • BJP 4
  • Independent 1

Within the alliance of Shiv Sena BJP, it showed that Shiv Sena had the upper hand over BJP with the saffron party-managing just 6 seats under the leadership of Belapur MLA Manda Mhatre.
