The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation had organized the Navi Mumbai Mayor Sarvejanik Ganesh Darshan Competition, prize distribution of which was at Vashi. The award was given by Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik.
Every year NMMC organizes Navi Mumbai Mayor Sarvejenik Ganesh Darshan competitions. The winners of the competition held in 2010 were awarded recently At Vashi’s Vishnudas Bhave auditorium. Present for the prize distribution was Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, MLA Sandeep Naik, Mayor Sagar Naik, Leader of the House Vithal More and NMMC DMC Jagannath Sinnarkar. The competition held every year is based on several categories like the kind of decoration done, cleanliness maintained, attractive idols etc. The winners of this competition were given cash prize and trophy at the hands of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. The winner for the best Ganesh Darshan was given to Sector 17, Vashi’s Ganesh mandal. A special award was also given to Agroli village’s Ganesh mandal which had carried the tradition of One Village One Ganpati. Speaking to the media, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik advised all Ganesh mandals to celebrate the festival following the rules.
