A special Android application, Swachh-MoUD, has been launched, on which citizens can put forth their grievances with regard to cleanliness in the city. The app, launched as part of Swachh Bharat Mission, is also linked to NMMC.
According to officials, NMMC has been linked to the app on the Centre’s direction. The app has been activated in around 500 corporations across the country.
“Complaints put forth by citizens on the app are linked to Swachh Bharat Mission site and they will be monitored by the Central government,” said Ankush Chavan, additional civic commissioner. He added that the corporations will be rated based on their promptness in taking action on the complaints. “This will help in introducing transparency,” he said.
The citizens, after downloading the app, can record their complaints and also post pictures. The app will ensure that the ward officer is informed about the complaint and thereafter take action within three days.
“Another app, SBM-Engineer, will be linked simultaneously to enable NMMC officials track complaints. The complaints put on Swacch-MoUD will be linked to SBM-Engineer, where the concerned officials will coordinate and resolve the complaints,” Chavan added.
