No party protests against beef ban on first day of assembly session

FadavnisMumbai, Maharashtra : The Governor of Maharashtra mentioned beef ban as one of the government’s “achievements”, in his joint address to both Houses of the state legislature. And all parties, including the Congress that had said of raising the issue in the on going budget session of the Maharashtra legislature, kept quiet.

The government has announced of compensating farmers who sell old cows to slaughter houses and even aid the leather business that is going to be affected by the beef ban.

Except for NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad who represents minority dominated Mumbra region, no other MLA or party protested the beef ban fearing political repercussions.
