No transparency in RTI seeking PM bungalow staff & expenditure information, claims activist

According to reports in a daily newspaper, a Right to Information (RTI) query was stonewalled by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

THE RTI sought information on the number of staff and expenditure at the Prime Minister’s bungalow. It further asked the number of cars and  drivers hired at the bungalow, safaiwalas and telephone operators for the bungalow, and salaries drawn by the staff each month. The RTI also sought information on the  amount spent on electricity, telephone and water charges.

However, vague answers were provided for the RTI reply, which the applicant found dissatisfactory saying that it was not held in a transparent manner.
