President Barack Obama has personally apologized for the airstrike that hit an hospital in Kunduz. He apologised to the head of Doctors Without Borders in Afghanistan.
He assured that a full investigation will be carried out in the incident which killed several patients and hospital staff.
However, in response to the apology, which came five days after the bombing, the head of the doctors group sent a terse statement that the apology was received.
Dr. Joanne Liu, the international president of Doctors Without Borders, repeated her demand for an independent investigation to “establish what happened in Kunduz, how it happened, and why it happened.”
