Opposition parties back out from study tour to Andaman and Nicobar Islands

BMC Standing Committee were to go on a study tour to Andaman and Nicobar islands. The five day tour was scheduled between Jan 28 to Feb 1 where the members were to study the development work such as storm water drains, sewerage lines, road works and others in the islands.

However, at the last minute, the opposition parties in BMC along with BJP dropped out of the proposed tour and now only the Shiv Sena party will be attending it. The corporators said that they backed out fearing a backlash and negative publicity, sources say.

The parties that backed out include  the BJP, the Congress, the NCP, the MNS and the SP.
