In a twist to Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar’s murder case, the CBI has said that it was considering scientific tests like narco-analysis and brain-mapping on an “un-cooperative” Padamsinh Patil. The Panvel court sent two other accused, Satish Mandade and Mohan Shukla, to judicial custody till June 26. Patil’s lawyers Ashok Mundergi and Shirish Gupte alleged that the CBI was coercing the NCP MP to confess and undertake scientific tests even though he had consistently maintained his innocence. Dinesh Tiwari, advocate for Mandade and Shukla said his clients need not be interrogated further. But the CBI said that the investigation had reached a crucial stage and Patil’s interrogation was essential to probe the role of other politicians and police officials in the murder conspiracy. Patil’s advocates were however prepared to move the high court to oppose any attempt to conduct a narco-analysis on Patil on grounds of his poor health. CBI joint director Rishi Raj Singh told the media that another wanted shooter, Pintoo Singh, had been traced in UP and the CBI would get custody of him soon. Roshan Hate – NMTV News.
