PM Modi interacts with Akshay Kumar, says he never dreamt of becoming PM

In a candid non-political interaction with actor Akshay Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he wanted to join the Indian Armed Forces and never thought of becoming the Prime Minister of India. PM Modi also revealed that he was fond of reading biographies. To which, Akshay Kumar added that he wanted to become a martial arts teacher and never thought about becoming an actor.

PM said that it was during the 1962 war with China that he was inspired to work for the country and join the armed forces. He then also revealed that he thought of becoming a sanyasi after being influenced by the Ramakrishna Mission – founded by Swami Vivekananda – for one’s own salvation and for the welfare of the world.

Interestingly, PM Modi revealed that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gives him one/two kurtas and Bengali sweets once or twice every year while adding that this comment might hurt him politically. PM Modi and Mamata Banerjee are at loggerheads in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Both have taken potshots at each other with PM calling West Bengal CM as “speed-breaker Didi” and Mamata Banerjee hitting back with “expiry babu”.
