The upper surface of the tank has been designed into a theme garden to attract tourists from across the city. This unit contains 6 pumps of thousand horse power each, having a capacity of 750 kilowatts to fill up the tank. The water is obtained from Morbe dam via gravity and them the water is pumped upwards towards the tank and stored in a 30 mld capacity tank. From there it is distributed from Kalamboli to Digha, which is the span of the pipeline stretch. It extends to 42 km mainline and 24 km connecting line.
