President Barack Obama’s authority put on test as Russia openly opposed US warning of interfering in Ukraine, Washington

President Barack Obama’s authority has been pull under scanner after Russian President Vladimir Putin openly not only opposed US warnings but chose to show what they can do. Obama called up Putin to express deep concerns and to issue warning over the fact that Russia’s act of clearly violating Ukrainian Sovereignty and territorial integrity which also was against the international law. And how does Putin reacts to Obama’s warning, he immediately takes a permission from its Parliament through pouring votes in favor of sending their troops in Ukraine to secure Russia’s authority. Within 24 hours armed Russian troops had taken over most of the government buildings, hoisted their flags on them, singing their anthems and have taken their positions at as many places as they can.

The fact is that how is Obama going to act or what decisions is he going to take against the series of actions carried out by the Russian government. It is true that Obama has mentioned again and again that he strongly believes that war and military attack is not the best solution to any problem. His thought could be a reflection of the past invasions that had been carried out by the American troops. However, Russia has clearly showed it and expressed it that if the solution to their problems is war, then they are ready for it, any day any time. For Obama, making a decision on Ukraine is not the first political twisted situation. He had to dig up solutions that helped in preventing call for wars, like in matters of Syria and Libya. But how will Obama resolve the matters in Ukraine, when Vladimir Putin way of settling issues is clearly and only through war. And Obama is a President of a country whose main motto has always been ‘You want war, then war is the only thing that you will get’. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
