Public transport to resume services: Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari said that Public transport services which are not in service at the moment due to the national lockdown commenced with an aim to contain the deadly outbreak of the coronavirus may resume operations soon and that the government is formulating safety norms and measures to maintain the social distancing protocol. He further added that the opening of transport and highways will boost the confidence among the citizens. He also cautioned them of maintaining safety measures such as usage of hand wash, sanitizers, face masks and the social distancing protocol. He added that the government is aware of the difficulties faced by the migrants and assured support to mitigate their difficulties.

Mr. Gadkari assured that he is in regular touch with the nation’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman who are trying their best and working overtime to boost the economy of the country during such difficult times when the whole country is in a standstill as a result of the COVID-19. The minister also asked investors and the industry to convert the coronavirus-induced crisis into an opportunity by occupying larger global market as it could boost the economy of the country.
