Dubai: Moderate rain hit many areas of the UAE early Wednesday as unstable weather prevailed in the country and its neighbour Oman.
Rain started in the western region with light rain inAl Ruwais and Sila at midnight followed by light showers over Al Marfa and Tareef, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology’s (NCMS) Twitter account.
At around 2am Wednesday, light to moderate rain was recorded in Khalifa city and different areas in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Sweihan, Sharjah and Fujairah also received showers early Wednesday.
According to the latest weather bulletin from the NCMS, apart from scattered rain, the Arabian Gulf will be rough with waves expected to reach between 6ft to a maximum of 8ft to 9ft offshore while the Oman sea will be moderate to rough with wave heights of 3ft to 6ft offshore.
Unstable weather is also affecting neighbouring Oman,according to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation. Chances of rain and occasional thundershowers associated with hail and fresh wind forecast for Musandam, Muscat, north and south Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dahirah, Al Dakhlia, north and south Al Sharqiya.
