RECESSION FORCES BJP TO CUT POLL EXPENDITURE BY 70%

bjp-campaignBharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has cut its poll campaign expenditure in the state by 70%, compared to the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. The party attributed it to “paucity of funds”. The party will now focus on audio-visual media and the Internet to woo the voters. The BJP party this year has decided to not use hoardings and cut outs for the election due to recession. Instead the party has decided to use messages through Internet and mobile phones reach the voters more effectively. FM Radio is another medium that will be used by the party for canvassing support. It may tie up with some leading FM Radio companies to air their jingles at regular intervals. Bureau report NMTV
