TransAsia Airways flight GE222 crashed on two houses after their second attempt to land was aborted. Due to bad weather the plane was delayed in its scheduled time, and soon when the plane requested for a second landing it was aborted further requesting the pilot to go around. Onlookers stated that the flight came down in storm and crashed on two houses. So far 47 boarded on the plane had been declared dead, while 11 passengers who were in critical condition were taken to the hospital.
Lee Yi-liang, 60 was the pilot of the plane along with his co-pilot Chiang Kuan-hsin, 39 who were both reported dead in the crash. Lee Yi-liang was one of the most respected and senior most pilot who had more than 20 000 flight hours in his career. His death was grieved by all his colleagues stating it one of the biggest loss in Taiwan’s Aviation history. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
