Shiv Sena activists led a violent attack on a submission centre at Dnyansadhana College in Thane, destroying five computers, breaking window-panes and terrorizing the college staff facilitating the online admission process. The provocation for the Shiv Sena attack was ostensibly the delay in the online admission system. The main server had been dysfunctional since morning, causing inconvenience to parents and students. Only 12 admission forms could be submitted that day. The incident occurred when Sena activists shattered the glass panes on one of the six counters opened to accept online forms. They then broke keypads and printers and also damaged five LCD monitors. The college staff was terroised with the outrage of the activists. The college is managed by MNS leader Satish Pradhan and speculation is rife that the attack was pre-planned to settle political scores. From Thane, Manoj Singh for NMTV News.
