Rohit Pawar, the grandnephew of Sharad Pawar, is the fifth member of the Pawar family to enter politics in the state. Even as the debut of his cousin Parth Pawar resulted in a defeat from the Maval Lok Sabha seat, the grandnephew of Sharad Pawar — Rohit — is all set for a likely straight fight with Ram Shinde, the guardian minister of Ahmednagar district and the BJP Shiv Sena candidate from the constituency. Rohit has been campaigning for the Karjat Jamkhed Assembly seat, which has been the BJP’s stronghold in Ahmednagar.
KARJAT JAMKHED HAS BEEN WITH BJP FOR 25 YEARS
In all his media interactions Rohit Pawar has been confessing that winning Karjat Jamkhed isn’t going to an easy one as BJP has been in power here for the last 25 years. He is relying on his own research and interaction with locals who according to Rohit Pawar say that the BJP has taken the constituency for granted and a lot of work is pending, for instance, water for irrigation, drinking water connection in small villages is a big issue, unemployment has been leading to migration to other talukas while women empowerment is yet to reach the women in the constituency.
ROHIT PAWAR HAS WON SHARAD PAWAR’S ‘CONFIDENCE’
Many NCP insiders say that NCP President Sharad Pawar has seen Rohit Pawar’s passion and connect and in ways, Rohit has already won his uncle’s confidence in his abilities. In fact, in Lok Sabha elections itself, Sharad Pawar had entrusted Rohit with the task of connecting with various groups of people during the Lok Sabha elections. He had actively campaigned for his cousin, Parth Pawar from Maval in Lok Sabha elections.
NO “UNNECESSARY BATTLES” FOR ROHIT PAWAR
Rohit Pawar is also seen not engaging in “unnecessary battles” specifically between him and Dr Sujay Vikhe Patil, who had won the Ahmednagar Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket and is Rohit Pawar’s ‘good’ friend. His message to his party workers has been, reach out to people and stay focussed that “This battle today is between the BJP’s way of thinking and NCP’s ideology.”
ROHIT PAWAR IMPRESSES WITH CONFIDENT ADDRESS DURING CAMPAIGNING
While Parth Pawar was heavily trolled for his speeches and under confident body language during Lok Sabha polls, Rohit Pawar is a contrast. He comes across as confident and convinced of what he wants to tell voters. In one of his addresses, he mocked his rivals who have been taunting the Pawars “we-are-your-owners” attitude and said that they are owners but of love and faith of people. He assured of not letting down people’s trust. Rohit Pawar said that people are living in fear in the constituency. He challenged his rivals not to take on the NCP party workers or voters, else people will show place. He appealed to voters in Karjat Jamkhed not to fear anyone. #ZebaWarsia – NMTV News.
