Shashi Tharoor lost his cool and abused media for asking questions on the polygraph test on the aides of his late wife Sunanda Pushkar. He later slammed the media through Twitter for “exploiting the tragedy”.
Tharoor, who reached the Thiruvananthapuram airport on Wednesday night around 10.30pm was received with some straight questions from the Times Now channel reporter on the polygraph test which irritated him.
When asked whether he is worried over the polygraph test and how come all the aides narrated the same story by concealing the same fact, Tharoor shouted by asking “Aren’t you ashamed? This is disgusting.”
When he evaded further questions and tried to get into the car, he said, “I will speak to the police, not to self appointed liars and scums”.
Later on Twitter he wrote, “It suits gutter journalists 2 pretend I attacked their entire fraternity. I attacked only those who put exploitation of tragedy above justice.”
He blamed the media by tweeting that one channel ran a witch hunt yesterday all evening, lied and distorted facts, aired innuendo, ran a survey on purported guilt.
Tharoor, who has been evading the media after the death of his wife was not ready to take any questions on the tragedy. In his tweet Tharoor wrote, “amused to see my comment to the one channel that stalked me at home and at Thiruvananthapuram airport is being twisted as an attack on all media.”
